That Personal Touch

Want your home to feel a little more you? Cozy, quirky, charming, and personal? I know I do - it's one of my goals for 2026.
Enter our laundry room. After a functional makeover awhile back, I finally added some personal touches that have transformed the space. Here's what worked for me:
Mixed Textures
Woven baskets, matte ceramics, warm woods—texture is charm’s best friend. Even a laundry room feels cozier with a woven hamper or a pretty glass jar for dryer balls.
Embrace the Perfectly Imperfect
Something handmade or vintage will add more warmth than anything fresh off the shelf. Character counts! Vintage inspired printed cafe curtains and lamp shades have made all the difference in our laundry room.
Invite Nature In
Fresh stems in a jar, a bowl of citrus, or a branch clipped from outside instantly perks up any room—including the one where socks go missing! In my opinion, a potted plant adds life to even the most mundain of spaces.
Show Your Passions, Loudly
Anyone who knows me, knows of my love of dogs - and it's showing up loudly in my collection of dog prints covering the walls in our laundry room. Cookbooks, travel photos, or craft supplies would all work well, too.
In a nutshell: charm isn’t about perfection. It’s about adding the small, meaningful touches that make every space—even the laundry room—feel like your happy place.
